Matthew 24:36

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man..."
2012 is the end of of a (roughly) 5125 year cycle of the Mayan Long Count calendar and the Tzolkin and Haab.
But why do many believe the hype?

Wasn't Y2K sandwiched between the expectation of Hal and the party thrown by Prince?
And didn't Orwell have a view similar to the one appropriated by Apple in their 1984 commercial?

If 2012 is the latest End of Days, why are so many concerned?

Because there are a lot of superstitious people who think MAN can predict what GOD will do!

I agree with FreeMan. People want to be caught up in the hysteria of doom and gloom (while others want to capitalize on it). As for me, I'll get concerned when people stop talking about "the end is nigh" (that's when you should start getting your stuff in order)!

You identify, people always manufacture comments when anything is predicted to take place in 2012, like “obviously that is if the world is subdue here.” You do achieve that the Mayans prognosticate the humanity will end on Dec. 21 (or 23rd)? So in all strong if anything is accepted to encounter in 2012 there is only the slimmest feasibility that the world will secure ended first it happens.
