In bee communities none is as important as the queen.Sure, bees seem to live in harmony with each other with every member of a colony knowing his place and purpose.
In the face of danger - the most expendable members sacrifice themselves in defence of the colony.
Maybe this is where our rulers get their concept of governance.

Autonomy is the bane of effective governance. Someone needs to get to work on creating those obedience chips, STAT.

Those guys were devoted to an ideal not a person.
@ NoFace - Yeah... it doesn't work in a Democracy where everyone is thought to be equal.
