Great Question!!!! I absolutely believe they would. It's not so much that they are too White, as much as they dont' validate any hood mentalities and customs. It's the same now as it was in the 80's, if they don't make me feel good about what I consider Black, then there must be something wrong with them 'cause I know I'm Black. So they must be more White. On the flip side, Bubba Sparxx got a temporary ghetto pass for validating the hood even though his White, country behind had nothing in common with anyone there except some lyrics about how hard life is and how much fun slumming is (slumming being relative to his home vs. the hood)
We haven't come that far yet. We still have a caste system between/among us.
You know what's funny about the colorism that we have allowed to fester in the "black community", if one was to really run with the "not black enough" argument a large majority of the "black" leaders in America's history would have their "black cards" revoked.
A lot of black folks get on white folks for including and excluding whole groups of people whenever it serves them, yet it appears a lot of our people do the same thing.
What I find interesting is that the vast majority of white people... which means every white person i know, had no idea there was ever a critisim of the Cosby's being to white. No white people ever mistook them for anything but black. In fact, they were obvioudly black because they wore cooler clothes than anyone we knew.
trust me when I say that conversations like these are stricktly a black thing. we pastier folks have no idea.
Are people wondering abt her daughter Zoe Kravitz, Persia White or Mariah Carey being too White - from where iStand, as a non-American, iThink people are over that to a large degree.
Concerning to whom the fault of oppression belongs; "We are not all equally guilty but we are all equally responsible" - Rabbi Abraham Hescel
Concerning blaming others for the problem; "...And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?... - Matthew: 7 1-5
Concerning how to fix the problems concerning oppression; "Someone once said that the word 'motivation' should never be used in the singular. Some combination of motives always exist and it's impossible for anyone to qualify the proportion of each that is involved in any given act" - Warren Buffet (in an interview in the USA Today)

Explain what constitutes "many"? Are we just talking about a sizable chunk of the black population, or most black folks?
sizable chunk, yes, most black folks, no.

I'm not sure, but I'm very sure that Lisa is looking quite hot here.
