Correlation Does Not Imply Causation

I don't smoke weed - I have too many things to do - but I have lots of friends who claim that they have glaucoma.

As the decriminalization of marijuana seems to be taking place in many parts of the nation (even here in certain counties in Texas), many regular citizens seem to think that cannabis may not be that bad of a thing.
Many have more important and worse things to worry about.
Many are just desperate.
Desperation causes fear, fear causes people to act irrationally and irrational acts have consequences.

Take a look at Donald Trump's electoral map.
Notice how many of the pot smoking counties didn't vote for Trump?
Are pot smokers more chill?
Are pot smokers not as desperate as say...

...those who are addicted to opioids.

Why has the opioid addiction rate increased so drastically in so many Trump areas?
We're many of these people high when they voted for the POTUS?
Or was Trump just the result of a desperate and depressed population's feeling of being left behind with no representation or options?
