It's Okay Not To Like Tyler Perry (Or Oprah)

I'm not mad.
I'm not begging.
I'm not a victim.
So far, Tyler Perry has nothing to say to me.
His characters are not those upon whom I'd like to model my behavior.
His topics are not those I'd like to revisit.
His sense of humor is more silly than it is clever.

Really?
Not liking Tyler Perry movies makes me a 'hater'?
What if I don't like Woody Allen movies?
I'm I hating on him as well?
(Or do I just not like Woody Allen movies?)

You are right, not liking Tyler Perry movies does not make you a hater.

However, your umpteenth negative post about all facets of this man and his varied works in this very blog pretty much does make you a hater.

Just to be clear, I don't like the shiz dude puts out either, but I can appreciate his game and the fact that his stuff obviously appeals greatly to others.

@ propper - Exactly.

@ DPizz - Chitterlings, fat chicks, Big Macs,...
I don't like any of them even though a lot of other people do.
Am I hating on these as well?

@UglyBlack, with regards to fat chicks, yes, you are also a hater as you have demonstrated in many of your prior posts.

Likewise, the sheer number of posts that you've directed at TP not just criticizing his movies but many aspects the man, imho, demonstrates that you are a hater when it comes to TP. It's not the mere fact that you have a difference of opinion, it's the repetitive, wholly negative, malicious critism that makes you a hater.

I'm not even saying that there's anything wrong with being a hater, I just think you shouldn't try to offer up your posts as honest critism, but rather should acknowledge your extreme bias and hater status.

I haven't really thought this through, but by "hater" I think I mean that you have such an entrenched, negative, beyond reasonable bias that virtually no act or additional information would change your view or cause you to even acknowledge any points of merit - you just hate-on regardless.

As far as Big Macs, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you've had your fair share of those in the past. Your sudden aversion to them is beyond my ability to address.

Big Macs? Nah... I loved the Mac Rib!

But I'm not hating on TP. I have no envy for the man. I just don't like his material.

I don't hate-on fat chicks - I'm just repulsed by many of them.
