USC Fans Taking A Rest

As I said before - I'm taking a year (or two) off from rooting for the USC Trojans.
Sometimes being so good just gets old.
But the interesting thing to watch is how the lessor schools perform.
Utah seemed more than capable of beating the heathen schools.
But it seems that Christian (TCU) trumps Mormon.
Even the troubled Catholics trumped the Mormons.
Man...
It must suck to be a Utah fan.
As Auburn is poised to leapfrog Oregon in this week's BSC rankings - one thing is for sure, one of the big two must drop in order for TCU or Boise State to have a chance to play for the title.
(Although Auburn will probably choke when they meet Alabama.)

I Don't Get...

Racist apologists who project their own racism on the whole of others within their own race.
Really?
When I see a Black guy on the local news for having robbed a bank, selling drugs or killing someone - I feel no need to apologize.
Why?
Because it wasn't me.

Anomalous?

Is it really progress?
Sure, the recent win by HBCU students Jonecia Keels and Jazmine Miller over other entries by students from M.I.T. and Harvard in AT&T's Big Mobile Campus Challenge is nice, but is it the norm?
If HBCU's are really that good - why the need to compare themselves to traditional stalwarts Harvard and M.I.T?
If HBCU's were really the ish - wouldn't Harvard and M.I.T. feel the need to get all excited because they beat Spelman?

Looks Are Subjective

While Anon commented that he/she thought that Julianne Moore was in fact an attractive woman - I'd have to disagree.
But that's okay.
Different people like different people.
Another "I Don't Get" chick would have to be Sarah Jessica Parker.
While on the short lived Square Pegs, I thought she was a bit homely but with potential.
But now I think she is one of the most overrated 'beauties' being pushed by movie studios today.
But sometimes people like what they are not expected to like.
No, I'm not talking a bout seeing a group of Black people listening to songs by Hall and Oats, Toto or the Tom Tom Club and knowing all the words.
More like seeing Snoop chillin' while listening to Duran Duran.

The one JAP who gives me the vapours is Stacy London.
I have no idea as to 'why' - I just think she's hot.
And don't get me started on 'Around the Way Girls'.
I really can't stand Hood Rats.
The Real Hoodrats of the ATL's Nene bugs the ish out of me.
But there is something about Paula Jai Parker as a Hood Rat that gets me going.
Dressed normal - not so much.

Top Dog (Would It Sell?)

Okay, okay... a video game in which one plays as a street dog fighting his way out of a dogfighting ring might come across as sadistic.
But is it any worse than pretending to shoot people?
Think of it as a GTA-type game but playing as a street dog.
If this game were played online maybe Micheal Vick could have avoided doing time in prison.
PETA aside - would this game sell?

"...Called Me a Racist..."

 Really?
George Bush had his feelings hurt by Kanye West?
Pa-lease!
As Mr West tactlessly attempted to draw attention to the unbalanced coverage and assistance given to Blacks after Katrina - he could have done it with more class.
Some would argue that Kanye was speaking up for those who had no voice.
Okay, I'll give you that - but it was done from the safety of celebrity.
And I'm positive that Mr West would have never dared pick on anyone less than a frail, frightened white girl.
If Kanye is so militant - why did he apologize?
Oh I forgot - he isn't really the one running things in the rap game and the powers that be punished him for his outspokenness while Ms Swift had her best year ever..

I Don't Get...

 The appeal of Brandy.
To me, she looks like a trout.
No wait... a catfish.
Her eyes are too far apart and coupled with that big forehead and gaping mouth...
Yeah... a catfish.
 Yeah, I know...
A lot of guys like Janet Jackson.
But to me she looks too much like Mike to be an attractive girl.
I have nothing against Gingers or being pale.
Marcia Cross is sexy but Julianne Moore just does nothing for me.
Her lack of muscle tone (A trait shared with another girl I just don't get - Taylor Swift. Blake Lively is also tall, blond and thin but Blake is attractive while Taylor just repulses me. Carrie Underwood is more hot as far as the country contingent from American Idol goes.) and thinly enameled teeth are just a turn off.
Julia Roberts has a crooked mouth as well.
But Ms Roberts can pull-off what Kyra Sedgewick cannot.
Maybe she can sing - I wouldn't know.
But this homely girl needs those outlandish outfits to take the attention away from her looks.
Mylie Cyrus is just about 18 so she is now fair game.
While I'm not from her desired demographic - this girl is just homely.

Matthew 20:16

Matthew 20:16 (KJV) - "So the last shall be first and the first last. For many are called, few few chosen."
The Founding Fathers were rebels.
No, not in the Southern sense - but in the sense that they were outsiders and lightly thought of in a time ruled by despotic emperors and kings.
These men thought that all men were equals (Non-whites were not yet thought of as being men.).
The country only made progress because these men thought beyond that which was accepted as being normal.
These men made progress because they were not a part of the elite.

But then the concepts and models used by these men became outdated.
Since the new establishment could not innovate beyond their previous innovations, these men then took the ideas of others and called them their own.
This model of theft and then inclusion is still used today.
Rock was dead before groups like The Clash added new energy as outsiders.
Pop music was dead until outsiders added Rap as a genre.
But this is true in all genres.
Generations of outsiders (Blacks) revived music before.
Jazz, Rock, Country, Rap, whatever - it is the outsider who innovates.
Even in the Rap world - the outsider dominates.
The West brought the genre back with Gangsta' Rap when those from the East were being spiritual.
The South is now the previously underestimated region to add new life to the genre.
What's next - Rap from the Third World?

If we are looking for innovators we need to look at those who are not a part of the current system - not to those who have spent their whole lives trying to gain access to the establishment.
At those who turn their backs on the establishment.
We need to look at the outsider.

This is why Obama is failing.
As an outsider, he was a king.
As a member of the elite, he a pawn.
But the establishment buys and sells souls knowing this.
This is why Sarah Palin remains a force - she is still considered to be an outsider.
Unlike individuals - for institutions, the real change is made by he who is on the outside.

0011 or 0110 ?

I'm not into numerology - the concept is a bit too extreme for me. But with the fuss over 2012 I have to respond.
The Mayans may have been correct but we may just be interpreting their clues wrong.
If we use a binary number - wouldn't 333 (0011/0011/0011) or 666 (0110/0110/0110) make more sense?
11/11/11 (0110 or 0011) could be either a choice (333) or an evil omen (666).
When Zacharias is taken into account (two thirds parish while one third remain) - did the Mayans have the same source as the Bible?
