Which Is Seeking Status?

A common misconception is that "Rich people do not brag about what they do with their money".
But this lie was only told to ensure that your broke ass didn't really take a look at how the game is really played.
The truth is - rich people do brag about what they do with their money, just not to the poor.
The next time you receive an invitation in the mail to attend one fundraiser or another - take a look at who gets top billing.
In most cases, the primary benefactor's name or foundation is written in large print with raised lettering.
Isn't this a subtle form of being boastful?
Isn't this letting everyone know of their place within this particular hierarchy as the more minor contributors have their names listed in an ever-shrinking size of font?

Some people even try for the two-fer by paying homage to someone while including themselves in the footnotes.

Some build (or have built in their honor) massive shrines to their societal importance.
While sitting in the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts one is reminded that He (Kennedey) was whom this shrine was erected in honor of, while you are just a guy sitting in a seat.

If the rich truly never boast of their philanthropy - why the need for an eponymous foundation?

Is Rick Ross doing anything different in his projection of 10k gold status imagery?

Isn't Biz just repeating what others have done within their own social groupings?

AT least T-Pain had a sense of humor about all of this self-adulation.
But the bottom line is,
Everybody seeks status - and everybody brags about it.
