Do Machines Have 'Memory'?

 BD asked whether a tattoo would be thought of as being a 'memory'.
But a tattoo doesn't interfere with performance.
A burned image on a screen would be more of a cataract....

While the Compac, Dell or Apple logo would be more comparable to being a tattoo.
