Are we Blacks to the point where we can call a spade a spade?
Can we criticize our own failed leadership - or must we protect those who have failed under the veil of racism?
Can we now hold ourselves to the standards to which we would hold others - or do we continue to lower the standards and make excuses because someone may happen to be Black?
Do we continue to elect officials because they are Black - or do we elect officials because they will serve us well?
If we've already lost hope in other institutions - is the lost hope in religious leadership the last straw?
Can we now just choose the best person instead of the best financed Black person?
Are we there yet?
Not only are we not there yet, but, the most qualified folk required to step forward, blow the whistle, confront these ass-clowns, and be prepared to step up and take their places are not in position or prepared to do so at this time.
ReplyDeleteShrill negroe conservative critics and haters would gleefully seek to fill the vaccuum left in the wake of these parasites, but these porch monkeys comprise a "careful what you wish for" alternative of equally unacceptable instability and incompetence.
Am I there?!?
ReplyDeleteIf it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, then it's a goddamned duck my friend!!!
Yes and no. I don't want to be apart of a lynch mob nor a apart of a fan club.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we can lump all Black public officials/ politicians together. I think that's what many people want us to do so that we reach a point where we don't trust Black public servants.
Waters and Rangal may have done something wrong but at this point I'm not sure if I trust those bringing the charges.
Nope were not there yet. As long as the majority of Blacks perceive they will not get a fair shake unless in white society there will be those who see the bigger picture. The bigger picture is at least he's Black and that's better than a well wishing white.
ReplyDeleteUntil the circumstances for that rationalization cease to exist there will never be the rational thinking you seek.
Would you go to a good doctor first or to a Black doctor first?
ReplyDeleteWith the bad press that black doctors have been having recently (Kanye West's mom and Michael Jackson), I'm sure some folks would be quick to avoid a black doctor (more so than usual).
ReplyDeleteIf the so called good doctor gives everyone syphilis then you go to the Black doctor.
ReplyDeleteI know you want to say if all things are fair you would choose the best. But, since one group perceives things being unfair they will go to their own.
@ FreeMan - I never said that the good doctor wasn't also a Black doctor.
ReplyDelete@UBJ - You didn't but overall in context of the conversation one can infer that.
ReplyDelete"Can we now just choose the best person instead of the best financed Black person?"
Okay, fair enough.
ReplyDeleteBut my point was that I
want a good Black person not just any Black person and that I want to raise the standards to get that.
I know your point and I think it's really a matter of elevating the numbers of qualified applicants so dumb can be obvious....
ReplyDeleteAs long as we have a limited field to choose from intelligence gets trumped by fear of unfairness by another.
